KAMPALA, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Uganda and Police FC striker Hood Kaweesa has signed a three-year contract with Zambian Premier League side, Buildcon FC.
Asan Kasingye, the Police FC chairman, said on Thursday that the player who played a pivotal role for the team in the first round of the Uganda Premier League will now move to Zambia.
"It is good for the player because he has served our club for sometime and recently was called to the national team and it is also good for the country to have as many players in the paid ranks in other countries," said Kasingye.
Musa Atagenda Ssebulime, the players' agent, also confirmed that Kaweesa agreed terms with Buildcon for a deal that will keep him at the club for three years.
Ssebulime said the Buildcon FC officials were in the country last week and held talks with the player and club before the deal was done.
Kaweesa is currently the Uganda Premier League top scorer after the first round with seven goal together with Vipers SC's Milton Karisa.
He also scored a goal when the national team finished third at the 2017 Council for East and Central African Football Association Senior Challenge Cup early this month in Kenya.
Kaweesa now joins three other Ugandans at the Ndola based club - Isaac Isinde, Boban Zirintusa Bogere and Geofrey Sserunkuma.
Another Uganda defender Joseph Ochaya features for Lusaka Dynamos FC also in Zambia. Enditem
