Xinhua,December 27, 2017 Adjust font size:

BERLIN, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-five people have been injured after a cruise ship, named "Swiss Crystal", rammed into the pillar of a motorway bridge over the Rhine near Duisburg Tuesday evening, German media DPA reported on Wednesday, citing local police.

Four people with more serious injuries were taken to hospital, according to the police.

The ship, with 129 onboard, including passengers mainly from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, had been sailing along the Rhine on its way to the Netherlands.

It then hit a supporting pillar of the A42 motorway, leading to a section of A42 closed for hours, according to the DPA, adding the traffic suspension has been lifted.

The vessel is owned by the Swiss shipping company Scylla. Enditem
