Albania's prosecution demands mandate revocation for two MPs

Xinhua,December 27, 2017 Adjust font size:

TIRANA, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Albania's Prosecution Office has requested the Central Election Commission to revoke the mandates of two lawmakers for providing false self-declaration, local media reported Wednesday.

Aqif Rakipi from Party for Justice, Integration and Unity, and Gledjon Rahovica from Socialist Movement for Integration, have been under investigation since February 2017, sources from the Prosecution Office said.

The office found that the two lawmakers were convicted for robbery in Italy, after it received their fingerprints from Interpol in Roma.

In February this year, the mandate of another lawmaker, Armando Prenga, was revoked for the same reason. Enditem
