Spanish shares drop 1.19 pct Tuesday

MADRID, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 down 1.19 percent or 122.60 points, to close at 10,182 points.

A total of 29 of the selected 35 large companies lost in the day.

Spain's third largest bank Caixabank went down 3.60 percent, followed by Spain's fourth largest bank Banco Sabadell and media company Mediaset that lost 3.43 percent and 2.39 percent respectively.

Electricity company Endesa advanced 1.23 percent, being the top gainer of the blue chips. Chemical and pharmaceutical company Grifols was up 0.55 percent and hotel chain Melia Hotels rose 0.48 percent. Enditem
