Singapore stocks close 0.22 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed down 0.22 percent or 7.55 points to close at 3378.16.

A total of 558.3 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 522.4 million Singapore dollars (about 388.6 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 197 to 157.

The STI index closed up 0.09 percent or 3.18 points to close at 3385.71 last Friday. Enditem
