NEW YORK, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted 179km NNE of Auki, Solomon Islands at 17:56:05 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 16.37 km, was initially determined to be at 7.32 degrees south latitude and 161.44 degrees east longitude. Enditem
