Winning streak interrupted for Prasetyo in Hainan Chess Open

HAIKOU, China, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Zhang Lanlin of China put an end to the winning streak of Sugeng Prasetyo of Indonesia as both draw their match in the sixth round of the "Belt and Road" 2017 Hainan Chess Open in Sanya, South China's Hainan province on Saturday.

However, Prasetyo still led the standing with 5.5 points from six rounds of matches, while Zhang and Xu Yang chased behind with 4.5 points, after Xu beat his fellow Chinese Li Guohao.

After a day's off, the second half of the Hainan Chess Open resumed its competition on Saturday.

Kicking off on Dec. 17, the Hainan Chess Open will run till Dec. 26, featuring some 60 players from Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand, the United States, Ukraine and host China to vie for a total prize of 380,000 RMB (about 57,000 US dollars). Enditem
