Qatar intends to develop waste management by new unique project

DOHA, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Qatar's Ministry of Municipality and Environment has launched a new biogas project in collaboration with Qatar University, Qatar local media reported Friday.

With officials representing both the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and the College of Engineering of Qatar University, the two sides signed the accords which signified the official kick off of the Qatari biogas project.

The legislation aims to reduce pollution and accelerate use of green and renewable energies, particularly, producing biogas from waste to use it in the vehicles powered by biofuel.

Doha aims at raising the percentage of recycle share of solid waste.

On the other side, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, the government has announced that the country is very serious for the protection of environment and investments in the sustainable technology. Enditem
