LONDON -- Road closures have been lifted as a controlled explosion was carried out after a "suspicious vehicle" was found abandoned Thursday near Buckingham Palace gardens in central London, according to police.

HAVANA -- The Cuban parliament approved "unanimously" on Thursday to extend the mandate of the Council of State, of President Raul Castro and his vice presidents for two more months until next April.
