7 killed, 4 injured in SW Pakistan attack

ISLAMABAD, Dec, 21 (Xinhua) -- At least seven people were killed and four others injured in a gun attack and landmine blast in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Thursday, local Urdu media reported.

According to local reports, the incident happened in the morning when a group of unknown gunmen opened fire on a house in the Toba Nohkani area of district Dera Bughti in the province, resulting in deaths of six members of a family which included women and children and injured two others.

Moreover, the ambulance taking the injured to a hospital hit by a roadside planted improvised explosive device causing one more death and wounded another two people, said a local police official.

Security forces and police have condoned off the site and launched an investigation into the incident. No group or individual has claimed the attack yet.

The attack came a day after the Pakistani security forces have foiled a terror plot targeting provincial governor and arrested two suicide bombers from Killa Abdullah area of the province. Enditem
