BEIJING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday pledged to enhance friendly cooperation among countries along the Lancang-Mekong river.

Huang Kunming, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting with foreign delegates who were here to attend a media summit on Lancang-Mekong cooperation.

Huang expressed the hope that the foreign delegates, who represent media or cultural departments from the Mekong countries of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, will take the summit as an opportunity to cement exchanges and understanding among the five countries and China.

He said China will firmly conduct friendly cooperation with the five Mekong countries, guided by the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness.

The Lancang-Mekong River is a natural link between the six countries. Enditem
