Singapore stocks close 0.36 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed down 0.36 percent, or 12.34 points, to close at 3,382.53.

A total of 1.2 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 808.5 million Singapore dollars (about 601.6 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 202 to 198.

The STI index closed down 0.28 percent, or 9.6 points, to close at 3,394.87 Wednesday. Enditem
