MINSK, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Belarus will issue 600 million U.S. dollars worth of eurobonds on foreign markets in 2018, Belarusian Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin said Monday.

Belarus intends to complete the placement of eurobonds in the first quarter of 2018, the total amount of which was planned at 2 billion U.S. dollars, the minister said.

In 2017, Belarus has already issued 1.4 billion U.S. dollars worth of eurobonds, which was placed in two tranches for five and ten years. The yield of the short tranche is set at 7.125 percent, and the longer issue is 7.625 percent.

The minister said that Belarus also plans to receive the sixth and seventh tranches of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) by the end of the first quarter of 2018 worth a total of 400 million U.S. dollars.

In 2018, Belarus will spend about 3.8 billion U.S. dollars to repay its public debt, the official said.

As of November 1, 2017, Belarus' external public debt totaled 16.6 billion U.S. dollars. Enditem
