Singapore stocks close 0.06 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed down 0.06 percent or 2.12 points to close at 3414.82.

A total of 1.52 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.03 billion Singapore dollars (about 756.5 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 224 to 198.

The STI index closed down 0.55 percent or 18.84 points to close at 3416.94 last Friday. Enditem
