Jilin edges Guangzhou to stop losing streak in CBA

CHANGCHUN, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Von Waver scored 36 points while other six players added double-digit points to help Jilin beat Guangzhou 139-132 in the 17th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Sunday night.
Guangzhou opened the game with a 8-2 and expanded the lead to double digit. Then Von Waver helped Jilin cut the deficit to end the first half at 60-67. In the last period, Jilin managed to overtake the lead and seal the victory at 139-132.
It was the first win for Jilin after 4 straight losses.
Von Waver led Jilin with 36 points and 5 assists. Carl Landry earned 25 points and 10 rebounds. Gao Shiyan collected 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Lian Ming, Chai Changyi and Cai Lilong contributed 17, 17 and 12 points each.
Sani Sakakini scored 27 points and 8 rebounds for Guangzhou. Semaj Christon got 31 points and 4 assists. Tyler Hansbrough missed a double-double with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Enditem
