Saudi women to be allowed to drive trucks, motorcycles

Xinhua,December 16, 2017 Adjust font size:

RIYADH, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Saudi traffic authority asserted on Friday that women would be allowed to drive trucks and motorcycles, Al Arabiya local news reported.

The country would officially allow females to drive in the mid of next year.

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered in September to allow women to drive cars after decades of restricting driving only to male citizens and residents.

The period set before lifting the ban will be allocated to carry certain legislation amendments and find methods for women to receive driving training. Enditem
