French shares drop 0.15 pct on Friday

PARIS, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.15 percent, or 7.84 points, to close at 5,349.30 points.

Eighteen of the 40 selected large companies lost in the day.

French retail giant Carrefour tumbled 2.34 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational information technology consulting corporation Cap Gemini was down 1.93 percent. French banking giant Societe Generale edged down 1.89 percent.

Building material manufacturer LafargeHolcim advanced 2.92 percent, the top gainer of the day. Air Liquide, a French multinational company which supplies industrial gases and services to various industries, gained 1.26 percent. Schneider electric, French multinational corporation specializing in energy management and automation solutions was up 0.78 percent. Enditem
