KUWAIT CITY, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Kuwaiti new cabinet members took the oath of office before Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday.

The emir hailed the tremendous efforts by Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in forming his 15-member cabinet amid critical internal and external challenges.

He also called on the new ministers to work as a team featuring cooperation, confidence and mutual respect between legislative and executive branches.

For his part, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber thanked the emir for his confidence in himself and the government members.

The prime minister also made a commitment to positive work with the National Assembly to achieve the country's development goals.

On Monday, Kuwait formed a new cabinet led by Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, after the previous cabinet resigned a few weeks ago.

Sheikh Jaber submitted the resignation of his cabinet in October after the parliament's no-confidence motion.

Kuwait has experienced frequent cabinet reshuffles. The new cabinet is the 35th in the kingdom's history. Enditem
