SOFIA, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria has its first book about the Belt and Road Initiative, written by a Bulgarian author Todor Radev.
The book titled "Belt and Road Initiative: the Chinese Perspective" was published on Monday by the Bulgarian company Entropi-1 with the assistance of China Radio International (CRI).
In the 176-page-long book, the author describes the concept and goals of the China-proposed initiative as well as areas and mechanisms of cooperation within the Belt and Road framework.
This book is a stepping stone for Bulgaria on a topic that is extremely important, Radev said in a video message at the presentation ceremony, which was held in the building of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists (UBJ).
For explanatory reasons, information about the Belt and Road Initiative has been presented in Bulgaria mainly in terms of the economic benefits that the country could receive, Radev said.
"However, the Belt and Road Initiative is much more than just economy," said Radev, who has been working as a journalist in the Bulgarian section of CRI in Beijing since 2009.
According to Radev, there was a need to write and talk about China, especially when it came to such large-scale initiatives like the Belt and Road.
Snezhana Todorova, president of UBJ, said at the ceremony that the book is very interesting. UBJ has been actively cooperating with the All-China Journalists Association for 30 years, she added. Enditem
