Singapore stocks close 1.05 pct higher

SINGAPORE, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed up 1.05 percent, or 35.81 points, to close at 3,460.45.

A total of 1.53 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 999.1 million Singapore dollars (about 739.58 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 254 to 183.

The STI index closed up 1.08 percent, or 36.5 points, to close at 3,424.64 last Friday. Enditem
