NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted 83 km SW of Atka, Alaska at 18:37:35 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 46.83 km, was initially determined to be at 51.74 degrees north latitude and 175.17 degrees west longitude. Enditem
