Taiwan's exports up 14 pct in November

Xinhua,December 09, 2017 Adjust font size:

TAIPEI, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan's exports grew at a double-digit pace in November on the back of solid demand for electronic parts ahead of the holiday season, local finance authority statistics showed.

The island's exports reached a new high of 28.88 billion U.S. dollars in November, up 14 percent from a year earlier and marking the 14th consecutive month for outbound sales growth.

The electronics component sector remained the key contributor to the strong growth of exports in November, with outbound sales hitting a new record high of about 10.2 billion dollars, up 16 percent from a year earlier.

The growth momentum is likely to be sustained this month, and Taiwan's exports for 2017 are expected to surpass 300 billion dollars as global demand in December will remain strong, according to the authority. Enditem
