British stocks up 1.00 pct Friday

LONDON, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.00 percent, or 73.21 points, to close at 7,393.96 points.

Berkeley Group Holdings, a property development company, soared 6.94 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust and Hammerson increased by 3.80 percent and 3.64 percent respectively.

The multinational inspection, product testing and certification company Intertek Group was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.75 percent. Rolls-Royce Holdings, a British pre-eminent engineering company, dropped 0.59 percent. Informa, a British publishing and events company, dropped 0.54 percent. Enditem
