Uganda netball team to host Malawi in Commonwealth Games build-up

KAMPALA, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) - Uganda's netball team will battle Malawi in three international build-up ties next month in Kampala as they prepare for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

William Bwambale, the Vice President Uganda Netball Federation said on Thursday that they have already concluded with their counterparts the Malawi Federation to have the build-ups which will help the two teams prepare better for the Commonwealth Games.

Three netball giants South Africa, Malawi and Uganda will represent the African continent at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia in April 4-15.

Bwambale said the technical committee will announce a squad of thirty players who will start training next week.

Uganda who won the 2017 Africa Netball Championship will be led by England based professional Peace Proscovia at the Commonwealth Games.

Besides Uganda and Malawi, the other top nations that were announced by the International Netball Federation who will play at the Commonwealth Games include Australia, New Zealand and England. Enditem
