CBA Roundup: Guangdong beat Shanxi, Shandong smash Bayi

CHANGCHUN, China, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Yi Jianlian scored 31 points and the home Guangdong beat Shanxi 124-98 to register their third straight victory in the 13th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday night.

Shanxi opened the game with 12-8 before Guangdong kept chasing and bounced back to 26-24, thus leading all the way to the end.

The advantages of Guangdong's inner line are gradually highlighted. Although Shanxi tried to narrow the gap in the next half, Yi Jianlian and Zhou Peng consecutive score for Guangdong, closing the game with 124-98.

Yi Jianlian contributed 31 points and 14 rebounds for Guangdong, which is his best performance in this season.

Meanwhile Shandong trounced Bayi 106-88, remaining unbeaten at home as Bayi extending its losing streak to 13 games.

Shandong engine a 14-3 run in the opening and expanded the lead to 15 points in the second quarter.

In the next half, Ding Yanyuhang's fast breaks and shots enlarged the gap to the maximum 24 points.

Although Li Tiange and Lei Meng's three-pointers help Bayi to cut the deficit down to 15 points, Shandong' s unstoppable scoring seal the victory at 106-88.

Zou Yuchen of Bayi didn't show in this game because of injury.

In other matches played on Thursday, Tianjin beat Sichuan 104-93, Xinjiang humiliated Qingdao 133-113, Beikong defeated Guangzhou 97-89. Enditem
