Singapore stocks close 0.27 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.27 percent or 9.07 points to close at 3388.14.

A total of 1.57 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.11 billion Singapore dollars (about 823 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 246 to 159.

The STI index closed down 1.19 percent or 40.85 points to close at 3397.21 on Wednesday. Enditem
