Namibia's 19-strong squad jets off to U-20 Cosafa Championships in Zambia

WINDHOEK, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's football coach Gerhard Gunther on Wednesday named 19 players to represent the country at the 2017 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) Under-20 championships finals in Zambia.

The team was announced in Windhoek on Wednesday following the return of the squad from a two week training camp in Ghana that saw 26 players taken through the ropes.

Namibia's coach made the cuts, dropping six players with only 19 travelling to Zambia on Wednesday morning.

The 19 men squad to take part in the Championships is as follows: Calvin Spiegel (Chief Santos) Vipua Tjimune (African Stars), Lubeni Haukongo and Aprocius Petrus (Eleven Arrows), Stanley Ndjavera (Tura Magic), Romario Hawiseb (African Stars, Paul Kotjipati (Spoilers FC), Migeri Hubert (Life Fighters ), Johannes Hollombach (Chief Santos), George Hummel (UNAM FC), Anthony Kham and Rivaldo Festus( Eleven Arrows), Augustinus Hobexab (Eastern Chiefs), Eldery Morgan and Enzo Mungendje (both Tura Magic), Moegamat Davids (South Africa), Natangwe Petrus (Khomas) and Petrus Kamati (Karas), Tuhafeni Leonard (TUKS, South Africa).

Meanwhile Cosafa revised the fixtures and Namibia will face Angola on Friday, Dec. 8 at the Arthur Davies Stadium and then play their second game against Lesotho on Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Nkana Stadium. The final group C game against Zimbabwe will be on Dec. 12 at the Nkana Stadium as well. Enditem
