FIFA lifts 2-year ban of Kuwait

Xinhua,December 06, 2017 Adjust font size:

GENEVA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- World soccer governing body FIFA on Wednesday lifted Kuwait's ban from international soccer.

The ban was imposed in October 2015, leaving Kuwait unable to play its World Cup qualifiers.

"Kuwait Parliament has adopted a new sports law which complies with our statutes," FIFA announced.

Kuwait remains suspended by the International Olympic Committee. Its athletes competed at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics as an independent team. Endtem
