Agreement for Asian Games sponsorship inked

JAKARTA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Organizing committee of the 18th Asian Games (INASGOC) and 9 sponsors of the regional sport event signed a deal on sponsorship on Wednesday, showing their strong support to the event.

Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Youth and Sport Minister Imam Nahrawi witnessed the signing taking place in the vice presidential office.

"The signing of cooperation on sponsorship indicates trust and strong support from state's firms, private companies, and international business to the success of the Asian Games 2018," Chairmen of INASGOC Erick Thohir said after the signing.

"This will motivate and encourage us to work harder, fast and efficiently with accountable," he said.

For his turn, Vice President Kalla expressed gratitude to the businessmen for their assistance, including providing financing.

"Every big sport events will lead to cooperation, so that best achievement can be secures."

Minister Nahrawi said that he appreciated that business sector has considered as parts of promotion and to effort to boost the prestige of a nation.

"Sport links with infrastructure and achievement, It is badly needed a synergy between government, community and business sector," he said.

The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2 of next year in Indonesia's capital and Palembang city of South Sumatra province. Enditem
