DAMASCUS -- Israel launched a missile attack against a Syrian military base in the countryside of the capital Damascus on Monday night, the state news agency SANA reported.

The Syrian air defenses responded to the attack, destroying three of six missiles targeting the military base in the town of Jamraya, some 8 km northwest of Damascus, said the report. (Syria-Israel)

DAMASCUS -- At least seven people were killed and eight others wounded on Tuesday when an explosive device ripped through a communal bus in the central city of Homs, state news agency SANA reported.

The explosive device was planted in the bus that exploded in the Ekrima neighborhood in Homs, said SANA. (Syria-Car Bomb)

ANKARA -- The U.S. potential move to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital could prompt the cutting of Turkey's diplomatic relations with Israel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday.

"This could go as far as cutting our diplomatic relations with Israel. You cannot take such a step," Erdogan told a parliamentary group meeting of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). (Turkey-Israel-embassy)

BEIRUT -- Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri withdrew his resignation during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, which was chaired by President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Palace.
