Survey shows consumers confident in Chinese products

Xinhua,December 05, 2017 Adjust font size:

BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- A survey conducted by the China Youth Daily on Tuesday showed 84.1 percent of respondents were confident in the development of Chinese products.

The survey, carried out among 2012 people, showed that clothing ranked first among the most popular Chinese products, followed by daily products, shoes and hats and home appliances.

Nearly 60 percent of those surveyed agreed that favorable prices are the greatest advantage of Chinese-made products, and 48 percent of people said that Chinese brands are trustworthy.

Jia Jinjing, principal researcher with the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China, said that Chinese products have made rapid progress in recent years.

China's manufacturing output value was 60 percent of that of the United States 10 years ago, while now the country's manufacturing output value is 1.8 times that of the United States, said Jia.

Chinese products are developing toward medium- and high-end quality, and many have reached an advanced level, he added.

Nearly half of respondents said a lack of core competitiveness and inadequate protection of intellectual property rights have restricted international development of Chinese products. Enditem
