Singapore stocks close 0.01 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.01 percent or 0.41 points to close at 3438.06.

A total of 1.74 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.07 million Singapore dollars (about 793.49 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 286 to 175.

The STI index closed down 0.32 percent or 11.07 points to close at 3438.47 on Monday . Enditem
