SYDNEY -- Online U.S. shopping giant Amazon has officially launched operations in Australian on Tuesday, with the brand looking to make an impact in the lead up to the busy Christmas period.

Their 24,000-square-meter warehouse in the outskirts of Melbourne will offer 23 consumer categories ranging from books, electronics, clothing, home improvement, kitchen goods, health and beauty and baby products. (Amazon-Australia)

CANBERRA -- Australia's opposition Labor Party has announced that a new domestic violence policy will be one of the cornerstones of its next federal election campaign, declaring that it will legislate that victims can take up to 10 days of paid domestic violence leave every year.

Announced on White Ribbon Day on Nov. 25, a day which raises awareness for the prevention of men's violence against women, Labor said that victims should be encouraged to take time away from work to seek medical or psychiatric help if they are a victim of domestic violence. (Australia-Election)

MANILA -- The Philippines has ordered French pharmaceutical company Sanofi Pasteur to pull out its Dengue vaccine from the market, pending the compliance with the directives of the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), said the government agency.

The FDA immediately directed the giant pharmaceutical company to suspend the sale, marketing, distribution of its Dengue vaccine, and to conduct an information dissemination campaign through advisories, dear doctor letters and patient fora, the FDA said in a statement issued on Monday night. YANGON -- All displaced people taking shelter at 31 camps in Sittway, capital of Myanmar's western Rakhine state, have returned home as the situation in the state returned to normalcy, the official Global New Light of Myanmar quoted Rakhine state government sources as saying on Tuesday.

The returnees included the last batch of 123 Hindu people who have moved back from Sittway and are being sheltered at a camp set up near Maungtaw regional government office as they are repairing their homes burnt down earlier by extremist terrorists. (Myanmar-Rakhine State-Return)

TOKYO -- Some 60 lawmakers from a non-partisan group led by Hidehisa Otsuji, a former vice president of the House of Councillors, visited the notorious war-linked Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo on Tuesday.
