Spain's unemployment rises by 7,255 in November

MADRID, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Spain's unemployment in November rose 0.2 percent month on month, or by 7,255 people, according to data published on Monday by the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
The total number of unemployed in November stood at 3.4 million. Over the last year, unemployment fell by 315,542 people, which meant an 8.3 percent fall, the ministry said.
The number of unemployed women stood at 2 million, rising by 6,969 since October, while the number of unemployed men stood at 1.4 million in November, increasing by 286 people since October.
Regarding sectors, the number of unemployed people in the service sector rose by 23,048 due to the end of the tourist peak season. On the other hand, unemployment of sectors of construction, agriculture and industry all see decreases by some 3,000.
Unemployment especially rose in the archipelago of the Balearic Islands and Spain's northeastern region of Catalonia in November which are two of the main tourist destinations in Spain. Enditem
