CAPE TOWN, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Sunday:

-- In a major change of policy, the Kingdom of Morocco is set to send its ambassadors back to South Africa, and the two countries will resume diplomatic ties, which were severed in 2004.

In an interview with City Press on Saturday, President Jacob Zuma said Morocco would send its ambassador back to Pretoria as a first sign that the two countries were resuming diplomatic relations. (City Press)

-- The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng on Saturday announced the nomination of Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa to take over as president of the governing party at its upcoming, highly anticipated national elective conference where President Jacob Zuma is due to step down as leader of the former liberation movement.

Ramaphosa led the pack of nominated candidates, with nominations from 374 Gauteng branches, easily outstripping his main rival, former African Union Commission Chairwoman Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who garnered nominations by 64 branches for the same position of ANC president. (Fin24)

-- Former outspoken African National Congress (ANC) MP, Makhosi Khoza, said on Saturday South Africans must free the National Treasury and the South African Revenue Service (SARS) from state capture.
