MOGADISHU -- Somalia National Army (SNA) on Friday killed 11 Al-Shabaab militants and injured several others in a fierce fighting in a town in Hiraan region in central Somalia.
Ahmed Teredisho, a military commander in Hiiraan region central Somalia, said the fighting started when the militants ambushed a convoy of Hiraan region's Governor Ali Jeyte Osman who was heading to Mahas town for duty from Beledweyne town.(Somalia-Attack)

JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- Up to four militants loyal to the Islamic State (IS) group were killed and eight others injured as unmanned plane struck the hardliner group hideout in the eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, spokesman for provincial government Attaullah Khogiani said.
The strikes, according to the official, was conducted early morning against IS hideout in Wazirotangi area of Khogiani district.(Afghanistan-Airstrikes)

JAKARTA -- The Indonesian disaster management agency reported on Friday that 20 people were dead and 1,709 houses were destroyed after cyclone from the Indian Ocean triggered landslides, floods and whirl winds in the provinces, an official said.

ISLAMABAD -- At least nine people were killed and 35 others injured as four terrorists launched an attack on a student hostel in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar on Friday morning, local Urdu media ARY said.
