Tokyo shares open higher on Wall Street gains, U.S. tax reform outlook

TOKYO, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened higher Friday on the stronger U.S. stocks amid expectations for the U.S. tax reform.
As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 238.04 points, or 1.05 percent, from Thursday to 22,963.00.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 14.02 points, or 0.78 percent, to 1,806.10.
Gainers were led by marine transportation, iron and steel, and mining issues. Enditem
