Tongxi beats Sichuan to stop 3 game-losing streak

BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- J.J.Hickson scored a game-high 37 points to enable Tongxi beat Sichuan 120-107 and stop its three game-losing streak in the 10th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday.

Two international players, Hickson and Dominique Jones, combined for 72 points to help Tongxi take the lead from the first quarter. However, Iranian Hamed Haddadi controlled the paint and kept the visitors within a striking distance until the last quarter.

Haddadi had 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Jamaal Franklin scored a team-high 26 points for Sichuan.

Fujian beat Shanghai 144-139 with a pair of 3-pointers from Chen Linjian and Zhao Tailong during the last two minutes.

The 24-year-old Chen even had a career-high 40 points including 10 three-pointers, and former New Orleans Pelicans player Russ Smith grabbed 31 points for Fujian. Zhao and Wang Zhelin had 25 and 17 points respectively.

Jimmer Fredette had a game-high 56 points for Shanghai, followed by Nick Minnerath with 34 points.

In other games, Guangsha smashed Bayi 130-97, Shenzhen beat Tianjin 102-83, Qingdao cruised past Guangzhou 125-94. Enditem
