ADEN, Yemen -- About five Yemenis were killed when an explosives-laden car blew up near Yemen's Finance Ministry headquarters in the southern port city of Aden early Wednesday, local officials said.

According to the Aden-based officials, a group of militants detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) and targeted the Ministry of Finance building in KhorMaksar district of Aden. (Yemen-Car Bombing)

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi ordered the army's chief of staff on Wednesday to restore security and stability in the restive part of the Sinai Peninsula within three months.

"I bear you responsible before all the Egyptian people to restore security and stability in Sinai within three months," Sisi spoke directly to Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid Hegazy while delivering a speech aired on the Egyptian state TV. (Egypt-Sisi-Army-Sinai)

GAZA -- Leaders of Islamic Hamas movement and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Fatah Party agreed Wednesday to postpone power transfer to the Palestinian consensus government until Dec. 10.

Senior Fatah leader Fayez Abu Eita made the announcement in an official statement following a meeting at the office of Hamas chief in the Gaza Strip Yehya Sinwar that lasted for more than six hours. (Gaza-Hamas-Reconciliation)

JERUSALEM -- Israel plans to appoint a new ambassador to Jordan in a bid to solve a diplomatic crisis over July's deadly shooting by an Israeli guard in Amman, Israeli media reported Wednesday.

According to the Hebrew-language Walla news site, the move was aimed to calm Amman's anger over the way the current Israeli ambassador, Einat Schlein, handled the incident, in which a security guard with the embassy shot and killed two Jordanian citizens. (Israel-Jordan-Ties) Enditem
