MADRID, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- 21 people were injured after a train covering the route between the southern Spanish cities of Malaga and Sevilla derailed on Wednesday, according to local media.

The accident happened between the stations of El Sorbito and Arahal shortly after 10:00 a.m. local time when Emergency Services received a message from one of the passengers on the train, it was reported.

Emergency services attended the injured at the scene. They were then taken to different hospitals in the region, two in serious conditions, according to media reports.

Early indications show it is the third coach of the train that was derailed. Flooding as the result of heavy overnight rain could have been the cause of the accident. Enditem
