Armed terrorist shot dead by Tunisian army: spokesman

TUNIS, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- A terrorist was shot dead by Tunisian army units in an exchange of fire in the heights of Kasserine, (center-west of the country) late Tuesday night, announced Colonel Belhassen Oueslati, spokesman of the Tunisian Ministry of Defense.

According to the same source, briefly spoken on the airwaves of a private radio station in the capital, the terrorist killed was among an armed group entrenched in these heights.

A large sweep operation was launched throughout the perimeter to hunt down other armed elements.

Suspicious movements were detected Tuesday, in the heights of Kasserine which led to a confrontation with this group of extremists, revealed the spokesperson of the Tunisian Ministry of Defense without giving more details. Enditem
