UN chief condemns DPRK for missile launch

UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday condemned the latest missile launch by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), saying it is "a clear violation of Security Council resolutions."

"The secretary-general strongly condemns the launch of yet another ballistic missile by the DPRK. This is a clear violation of Security Council resolutions and shows complete disregard for the united view of the international community," Guterres' spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement.

"The secretary-general urges the DPRK to desist from taking any further destabilizing steps. The secretary-general reaffirms his commitment to working with all parties to reduce tensions," the statement added.

DPRK successfully test fired a newly developed Intercontinental Ballistic Missile early Wednesday morning, the country's Korean Central Television reported. Enditem
