TOKYO -- Japan's Toray Industries, Inc., a major chemical fiber manufacturer, said on Tuesday that one of its subsidiaries had falsified inspection data for over eight years, dealing another blow to the reputation of the scandal-hit Japanese manufacturing industry.
Akihiro Nikkaku, President of Toray Industries, Inc. told a press conference that the company's wholly-owned subsidiary Toray Hybrid Cord Inc., had falsified data for tire cord fabric and other products for eight years since April 2008. (Japan-Manufacturing industry)

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN -- The Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has cancelled its flights to and from Bali following the temporary closure of the Ngurah Rai International Airport after the eruption of Mount Agung that caused limited visibility for flight operations.
According to a statement from the RB, the national carrier of Brunei informed that it has cancelled Tuesday's flight from Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) to Bali and Wednesday's service from Bali to the BSB. (Brunei-Mount Agung-Eruption)

MANILA -- The personal information of Philippine Uber users was among those exposed in the massive breach last year that affected 57 million Uber clients around the world, the Philippine National Privacy Commission (NCP) said on Tuesday.
NPC Chairman Raymund Liboro said in a statement that "Uber confirmed that personal information of Filipinos was exposed in the data breach" that attacked Uber's "third party cloud-based storage accounts" in October last year. (Philippines-Uber-Information breach)

JAKARTA -- Landslides and floods struck East Java province of western Indonesia on Tuesday, leaving 11 people dead and thousands of houses submerged, a local official said.
