JAKARTA, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Organizers of the 18th Asian Games have decided to make a change of nine events for the biggest regional sports gala next year, a top Indonesian sports official said on Tuesday.

Three in boxing, two in BMX, one in jujitsu, one in karate, one in kurash (Turkish wrestling) and one in sambo, will be replaced by five in archery and four in wall climbing, said Eric Tohir, chairman of the Asian Games Organizing Committee.

"There are change in the number of sport events," Tohir said.

Being the host, Indonesia has the right to name a total of 40 events for the Asian Games slated for Aug. 18 to Sept. 2 next year in the capital of Jakarta and Palembang city of South Sumatra province. Enditem
