Algeria condemns heinous bus attack in Kenya

Algeria on Saturday strongly condemned "the cowardly attack" that targeted a bus in northeastern Kenya, killing 28 people, APS news agency quoted spokesman for the foreign ministry Abdelaziz Benali Cherif as saying.

"Algeria strongly condemns this cowardly attack that occurred on Saturday against a bus in northeastern Kenya, which killed 28 innocent people," Benali said.

"We are appalled by these heinous and indiscriminately acts of terrorism which cause grief to dozens of families," he said.

"We extend our condolences to the government of Kenya and families of the victims, and we reaffirm our full support for the efforts of the Kenyan authorities in the fight against terrorism in all its forms," the diplomat added.

Algeria also urged the international community "to redouble their efforts to combat the scourge of terrorism, in particular through strengthening regional and international cooperation," Benali concluded.

Armed militants on Saturday attacked a public passenger bus in Mandera, northern Kenya, killing 28 people and injuring several others, local media reported.

Somali Al-Shabaab militants claimed responsibility for this attack. Endi
