Paraguay international defender Miguel Samudio struck an injury-time equalizer to earn Cruzeiro a 1-1 draw with Cerro Porteno in their Copa Libertadores second round clash on Wednesday.

Angel Romero gave the visitors the lead on 32 minutes by firing in a low shot after Matias Corujo's assist at the Mineiro stadium.

The Paraguayan outfit looked set for an upset victory before Samudio netted after a set-piece in the fourth minute of added time.

The Brazilian champions need at least two goals in the return leg on April 30 to advance to the quarterfinals.

In other matches on Thursday Lanus defeated Santos Laguna 1-0 in Argentina while Bolivar held Leon to a 2-2 draw in Mexico. Endi
