CIPG Reports on Nanchang's Low-carbon Development

Seven reporters from the China International Publishing Group (CIPG) travelled to Nanchang, Jiangxi Province on Monday to for a one-week trip to report on the city’s progress on low-carbon initiatives.
In 2010, Nanchang was selected as one of China’s low-carbon pilot cities by the National Development and Reform Commission. Five provinces, including Guangdong, Liaoning, Hubei, Shaanxi and Yunnan, and seven other cities, including Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Nanchang, Guiyang and Baoding are participating in the program.
"The reporters will focus on the city’s low-carbon initiatives during the last two years as well as the challenges the city faces," said Tang Shubiao, deputy editor-in-chief of China Today.
"CIPG will also keep a close watch on Nanchang City even after the one-week reporting trip,"Tang said. "We will let more people know its low-carbon development."
Reporters from china.org.cn, Beijing Review, China Today, China Pictorial and China Report will represent CIPG on the trip.
CIPG was founded in 1949 with a mission to introduce China to foreign countries through books, magazines and websites. It has over 20 subsidiaries as well as 12 overseas branches located in the United States, Britain, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Egypt, Mexico, Japan and Hong Kong, and operates a wide range of foreign language publications.
