Tianjin Eco-city Receive Huge Donation

The ongoing construction of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city will receive a donation of US$6.16 million from the Global Environment Fund, which was approved by the World Bank.

The donation will be used to help the eco city establish its legislative, institutional, financial, and monitoring systems. The promotion of green transportation and architecture is also listed as a focus of the donation.

Located in the Tianjin Binhai New Area, the 30-square kilometer Tianjin Eco-city lies 150 kilometers east of Beijing. It is designed to be a sustainable and resource efficient metropolis where 350,000 residents can live and work by the time it is completed in 2020.
