World Bank President James D. Wolfensohn and Minister Xiang Huaicheng Sign the Memorandum of Understanding

World Bank President James D. Wolfensohn (First Row: L2) and Chinese Minister of Finance Xiang Huaicheng(First Row: R1) sign the Memorandum of Understanding on China's joining the Development Gateway Foundation and the Press Conference to launch the China Development Gateway (CnDG) May 28, 2002. China will join other Founding Members on the Board of the Foundation which currently includes the governments of Australia, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mali (sponsored by The Netherlands) and Pakistan as well as the World Bank Group. Other sponsors from the private sector are Bloomberg, SoftBank and Transnational Computer Technology.
